Please tell us about your future plans once you graduate from Southern Arkansas University.
After graduation, I will pursue a Master of Business Administration degree with Social Entrepreneurship Emphasis. My goals are to help alleviate societal challenges through content creation and own a real estate investment firm where I will invest in commercial and residential property.
How are your experiences in the Rankin College of Business preparing you for your professional career?
The Rankin College of Business has given me the confidence to pursue my wildest career aspirations. Being an ex-introvert and coming from a small high school allowed me to appreciate the importance of choosing a university that has a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. My professors as well as other faculty members have pushed and encouraged me to achieve far past my own expectations. Their unconditional support and genuine encouragement helped me conquer every semester thus far!
What specific courses have been your favorite, and why?
Dr. Wise’s Entrepreneurship course has been my favorite thus far. In the class, we get to experience the early stages of entrepreneurial activity through a series of hands-on assignments. Being a ‘big-picture thinker’, it is hard for me to consider small details in the planning process. This course ultimately broadened my mindset by allowing me to consider each step as merely a part of a whole – not a dreadful, tedious step.
Do you have any favorite memories with Rankin College of Business faculty or fellow students?
My favorite memories would be all the late night/early morning study sessions with my friends to prepare for big exams. Although it was a stressful time, it was always comforting to surround myself with people who wanted me to succeed as much as I did.
What advice would you offer to a new student beginning their course of study at the Rankin College of Business?
I would encourage new students to get involved within the Rankin College of Business early in their academic career. Joining organizations centered around students with similar career interests is a great way to make lifelong connections and build a support system perfect for navigating through difficult business courses.
