- For Wednesday, November 25, 2020, five (5) hours of mandatory leave will be taken from 12-month faculty and staff. If the Governor does not proclaim the day after Thanksgiving a holiday, then a mandatory day of vacation will be taken.
- Holidays observed by staff during the Christmas/New Year’s break are: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, George Washington’s Birthday/Daisy Gaston Bates Day, Veteran’s Day, and Employee’s Birthday.
- Classes will not meet on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday. The students and faculty will have the day off. A survey of the staff indicated that an overwhelming majority wished to continue observing Dr. King’s birthday during the Christmas/New Year’s break; therefore, the University will remain open. Supervisors will make every effort to allow any staff member to take a day of annual leave if they prefer. Traditionally, there are events to honor Dr. King on campus that day.
