CEER is an affiliate of EconomicsArkansas, a private, non-profit, non-partisan educational organization founded in 1962 to promote economic literacy in Arkansas.
The CEER library is located in the College of Business and contains various supplemental materials to assist teachers and the general public in almost any area of economics. This includes teacher’s guides, student project and game ideas, as well as information booklets, video tapes, CD’s, and interactive CD-ROM’s. Come check it out and see how CEER can meet your needs!
- Standards and Activity-Based Economics Workshop in Springdale, AR (Oct 2-4). Training will consist of 3 module days covering Macroeconomics, International Economics and Personal Finance for high school teachers.
- Videotaping of various activities from the Standards and Activity-Based Economics Workshops for the Arkansas Educational Television Network (Oct 16). Instructional videos will be made available for teachers who are unable to attend the Standards and Activity-Based Economics Workshops held throughout the state.
Events from summer 2014:
- Standards and Activity-Based Economics Workshop (6/16-6/20). CEER assisted Economics Arkansas in conducting a 5-day training workshop in Jonesboro for high school teachers to prepare them for the newly required economics course. The training covered Fundamentals, Microeconomics, macroeconomics, International Economics and Personal Finance. This high-school workshop trained 18 teachers.
- Real Econ for All- Economics and Personal Finance Education Conference (7/9-7/10).CEER assisted Economics Arkansas in conducting a 2-day conference for K-12 teachers in Arkansas. CEER presentations included Noodle-nomics and Economics in Literature. This event trained 155 educators, providing 1,860 continuing education hours to Arkansas teachers.
