Please tell us about your future plans once you graduate from Southern Arkansas University.
Once I graduate, I would like to find a job in the production and manufacturing business where I could eventually work my way up as some type of operations manager. I also plan to continue my education by receiving an MBA with supply chain management emphasis.
How are your experiences in the Rankin College of Business preparing you for your professional career?
The Rankin College of Business truly cares about the students and wants them to succeed. The courses have taught me so much to prepare for my professional career, from learning what the backbones of businesses are, to preparing me for future interviews, and even teaching me proper dining etiquette.
What specific courses have been your favorite, and why?
I have several classes that I would say have been my favorite! My top three are Supply Chain Management, Production and Operations Management, and Quantitative Analysis 1. Both Ms. Givens’ and Mr. Watson’s teaching style makes the information enjoyable and easy to learn.
Do you have any favorite memories with Rankin College of Business faculty or fellow students?
My most memorable times have been when fellow students have texted me asking and ensuring I have completed assignments. I appreciate the sense of camaraderie among my classmates, and how we look out and care for each other’s success.
What advice would you offer to a new student beginning their course of study at the Rankin College of Business?
Even though I know it can be intimidating, some advice for new students is to ask questions and try to interact in class more. Asking questions and interacting in class more keeps you engaged in the material and helps settle any possible confusion. Plus, if you have a question, there is a good chance another student has the same question.
