The College of Business at Southern Arkansas University is now offering a new degree in Entrepreneurship.
The College of Business added the degree to help students compete in today’s global economy. The program combines basic business concepts while also focusing on starting a business and fostering innovation. Students will learn the skills of an entrepreneur by incorporating concepts from management, marketing, and finance.
“We are seeing more and more of today’s students who want to start their own business once they finish college,” said Dr. Lisa Toms, dean of the College of Business at SAU. “The Entrepreneurship major will help students who want to start their own business learn the skills necessary to succeed.”
Toms said that even though the degree is designed with business owners in mind, a graduate will have other options as well.
“While the Entrepreneurship degree is designed to help students start their own business, it is broad and flexible enough to help students succeed in finding a job in the corporate environment.”
