Janell Reeves, Center Director, joined the ASBTDC at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, David F. Rankin College of Business in September of 2017. She previously served the University as Coordinator of the Golden Triangle Economic Development Council. Morton spent 10 years as Accounting and Human Resources Manager for one of the world’s leading specialty chemicals companies. She also has community banking experience that includes lending and disaster recovery planning. She grew up working in her family’s small manufacturing business and is a former small business owner.
Janell received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in accounting and her Master of Business Administration from the Rankin College of Business at Southern Arkansas University. She was honored as the 2022 Arkansas State Star at the 43rd Annual America’s SBDC Annual Conference and the 2023 ASBTDC Ambassador of the Year.
Ben King, Business Consultant, joined the ASBTDC at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, David F. Rankin College of Business in February 2025. Prior to joining ASBTDC, he worked as a Graduate Assistant at the center, assisting with business planning, market research and financial projections. His experience also includes serving as a Marketing Manager and Specialist with AmeriCorps VISTA, where he developed programming to support college students from underserved backgrounds.
Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Entrepreneurship and is currently pursuing his MBA at Southern Arkansas University. His expertise in strategic planning, problem-solving, and leadership allows him to provide valuable guidance to Arkansas’ small business community.
