Southern Arkansas University is dedicated to supporting students in their academic journey. As part of this commitment, SAU at Magnolia offers the AmeriCorps Alumni Scholarship exclusively to AmeriCorps alumni in recognition of their service and dedication to their communities. The purpose of this award is to reward and encourage service-minded individuals in their academic career.
Awards are limited to five $1,000 scholarships per year and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Awardees must reapply each year.
Who is eligible?
- Incoming freshman, undergraduate, and transfer students who have verifiably completed a term of service in an AmeriCorps program.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester
- Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Must be able to provide documentation of completed AmeriCorps service term
