World Geography and Culture Online –A database for information on countries and states. Some featured headings include “Top Ten Lists,” “Regional and Thematic Maps,” “Cultures and Peoples,” with country profiles, a glossary, a gazetteer, and images and videos.
Britannica Online – online reference source – Look at Article Browse, and choose Earth and Geography or Society for geographical information.
Credo Reference – online reference source -Maps and information on places and cultures
Gale Virtual Reference Library – Ebook collection with information on geography and cultures, among many other subjects. On left of page, under Collections, select Nation and World for the most pertinent geographical information.

Country Studies via the Library of Congress – Older material in these ebooks still provides valuable historical information.
