What is VoiceThread?

VoiceThread is a learning tool that can be used to enhance student engagement and online presence. With VoiceThread, instructors and/or students can create, share, and comment on images, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, videos, audio files, documents, and PDFs, using microphone, webcam, text, phone, and audio-file upload.

Using VoiceThread in Your Course

• Using CourseView in VoiceThread – shows all of the Voicethreads shared in your specific course
• Using Individual VT in VoiceThread -Do you have a particular VoiceThread that you want all the students in your class to watch–and possibly comment upon? If so, use the “Individual VT” option. Add a new “Individual VT” link for each one of the VoiceThreads you want students to watch.
• Using VT Home in VoiceThread – VoiceThread homepage where you can see all of the VoiceThreads shared or created
• Using Assignment Builder in VT – The Assignment Builder gives you a way to assess student VoiceThreads or VoiceThread comments, or just confirm that students watched specific a VoiceThread.
