Commencement ceremonies will be streamed live on the SAU Facebook page, and ALL graduation candidates’ names will be read aloud in alphabetical order.
While we will do everything possible to conduct all commencement ceremonies as scheduled, please be aware that inclement weather may cause a delay or, in extreme cases, a cancellation of one or more ceremonies.
Guests and Seating
Each graduate is allowed 8 guests (regardless of age) to comply with current health guidelines. Tickets have been mailed to each graduate and include the stadium side on which guests are to sit.
Guests should enter the stadium through the entrance gate corresponding to the side of the field on which they are to sit.
Face coverings must be worn by every attendee over the age of 10 as they enter and exit the stadium.
Seating is designed for social distancing and guests are asked to please comply with marked areas.
Guests are encouraged to dress for August heat and to bring plenty of water to hydrate.
The health of those around us is of utmost concern; guests are asked to not scream or yell to prevent potential viral spread.
A first aid station will be available for any health-related issues during the ceremony.
Graduation regalia (caps and gowns) will be available to pick up at the SAU Bookstore during regular business hours beginning July 27, 2020.
Regalia may also be picked up at the SAU Track beginning one hour prior to your graduation ceremony.
If you prefer to receive your regalia by mail, please email email@example.com and include the following information:
- Student Name AND Student ID
- Shipping Address (no P.O. boxes)
- Email Address AND Phone Number
Contact the SAU Bookstore at 870-235-4050 for all other regalia inquiries.
Grisham Photography will take professional pictures during the ceremony. The envelope included in your regalia bag will provide instructions about purchasing these photographs.
To protect the stadium and track surfaces from damage, high-heeled shoes are prohibited for all ceremonies.
Dress comfortably for hot summer weather.
Only University approved accessories may be worn over regalia, such as academic cords, stoles, and medallions from within academic disciplines. You will be asked to remove any unauthorized items. Decorated caps are not allowed.
Face coverings will be provided to all graduates and must be worn during processional/recessional.
Diplomas for August graduates will be mailed to the address provided on the graduation application no less than 45 days after commencement. If this address is not correct, please send an update to firstname.lastname@example.org to prevent any delay in receiving your diploma.
