Each state in the U.S. has differing rules regarding immunizations. Certain immunizations are required for students in the state of Arkansas. Before leaving your country get a copy of your immunizations records (in English if possible). Shortly after your arrival, you will visit the school nurse’s office and receive the MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) immunization if you have not received it in your home country. Two injections of MMR are required in the state of Arkansas. Also, you will receive a TB (Tuberculosis) test upon arrival. Depending on the results of test, a second test might be given or a chest x-ray might be scheduled. Any subsequent treatment will be handled by the local health department. The cost of immunizations at SAU is $100 for each one.
