Members of the SAU faculty are recognized experts in their fields and many hold national and international reputations as teachers and scholars.

The primary goal of our university is student success. Academic standards at SAU challenge students and offer an opportunity to earn a top-quality education. Innovative and quality classroom instruction is a primary focus at SAU and a low faculty/student ratio assures that students have an opportunity to develop close working relationships with their instructors. Serving as mentors, members of the SAU faculty provide guidance, encouraging students to engage in a variety of professional and scholarly activities outside the classroom to assure a comprehensive and well-rounded college experience.
Southern Arkansas University has a growing main campus with modern academic buildings and class room facilities. SAU is located in the town of Magnolia, Arkansas and is within easy driving distance of the cities of Little Rock, Arkansas and Shreveport, Louisiana. The SAU campus is surrounded by idyllic pastoral farms and some of the most beautiful woodlands in the country. We invite you to visit our campus and hope you will consider becoming part of our community of scholars and the SAU tradition of success.
