Career A.I.M. (Alumni Inspiring Muleriders) is a program that provides current students the opportunity to explore career interests by connecting with an Alumni professional in their desired career field. Students are able to discuss classroom skills that are used in real-world applications and establish a relationship with a possible mentor. This is a great opportunity for students to create connections within the career path in which they are interested.
BECOME A CAREER COACH & MENTOR
Alumni will need to complete a registration form to become a Career Coach/Mentor. The alumni will need to be prepared to share about their current career and their experience in the field. Common topics to discuss include, but are not limited to:
- An overview of their current job
- Difficulties they have faced along the way
- Actions the student can take to prepare while still in college
- And more!
You may also be asked to review resumes and perform mock interviews (Fall & Spring). There will be scheduled events during the Spring & Fall semesters that will need your participation. Don’t worry! You will have plenty of time to prepare, develop “office hours”, and provide assistance to students. Possible methods to interact with your assigned students are phone, email, and video chat. The following link will take alumni to registration:
Alumni are responsible for:
- Completing an Alumni Registration
- Providing opportunities to connect with their assigned student
