Babysitting Basics | In this class, students will gain confidence in caring for younger children and be prepared to handle various situations they may encounter. They will learn about the development stages of children and create appropriate activities to have in their sitter bag for entertainment. We will cover first aid and how to handle emergencies and keep children safe. At the end of class, students will get to create an advertisement for their new babysitting venture and learn how to get hired! |
Baking Science | In Baking Science, students will learn how certain ingredients interact with each other to create sweet treats. We will examine how bread rises, why mixing ingredients together in a certain order matters, how to choose the best ingredients for cookies, and more! |
Biology Adventures | Join us for an adventure in biology! This class will have students investigate different types of biology that could lead to different career pathways. The students will do microscope work, anatomy, dissection, and other fun, biology activities. |
Creative Writing | Have you ever thought about becoming an author? In creative writing, students will learn how to write a short story and explore world building, genre, plot, theme, characterization, and point-of-view that is a part of every good book. |
Down and Dirty with Ag | Are you afraid of a little dirt? If the answer is no, then join us for an exciting agriculture journey. Students will learn about why soil is important to plants, about Dr. Temple Grandin and handling livestock safely, and why we cannot kill all the deer in one hunting season. |
Experiencing Ceramics | Join us in Experiencing Ceramics as students learn what it takes to become a sculptor! Working in clay, whether through hand-building or throwing on the potter’s wheel, can lead to paths in fine art as well as commercial design. In this class, students will design and create their own piece of pottery and will be able to take it home with them. |
Exploring Arkansas Wildlife | Come learn about the unique diversity of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish that call Arkansas home. Students in this class will get a hands-on and up-close look at a variety of different animals. We will learn how to identify these animals using real specimens. Students will also have the opportunity to get outside and practice techniques that wildlife biologists use to study these animals in the field. We will be hoop-netting turtles, trapping small mammals, collecting fish and amphibian samples at the nearby ponds, and much more! |
Getting Crafty | In this interactive class, students will create fun and unique projects like tie-dye, bracelet-making, and more! Join us as we explore the latest trends in crafting! |
Intermediate Archery | This course is designed to expand on basic Archery instruction and application. Intermediate Archery Instruction can be used to gain experience for Recreational Archery, Tournament Archery, and hunting wildlife during the Archery season. |
Lasers in Biology | Did you know lasers are used for a wide variety of purposes, including examining the number and size of the droplets formed when you talk, sneeze, or cough? In this class, we will use a high powered laser to show some basic principles of laser’s and how they are used in the world of biology. We will also utilize the laser to perform an experiment looking at respiratory droplets. |
My First Video Game | In this class, students will learn how to make their very own video game. We will use the Unity game engine to make a simple game to navigate a digital space to collect game objects and create a core game loop. We will learn to customize game objects to make them look unique, and will use some basic game design ideas and put them in our games. |
Piano 101 | Join us for this class as we introduce students to the piano! Students will learn how to read music and relate it to the piano as they learn how to play songs. From this class, they will be able to read music for piano, band, or whatever type of music they are interested in! |
Scuba Diving | This class introduces kids to scuba diving along with the safety aspects, science behind scuba and the care and handling of equipment. Student will get into pool on the last day. Appropriate forms will need to be completed prior to getting into the water. |
So You Think You Can Farm? | Join us for this class, where we will learn about a variety of farm-related topics, from harvesting to livestock education! Students will enjoy a hands-on experience while learning about agriculture! |
Stitching Together | Have you ever wanted to learn cross-stitch or up-cycle clothes by adding embroidery details? This class will teach you just that. You’ll learn methods on how to make the basic cross-stitch, add embroidery details to clothes, and tips and tricks along the way. |
Taekwondo | Taekwondo is the art of mind, body, and spirit. Students will participate in exercises and drills that will teach them the basics needed to master Taekwondo skills. We will focus on learning the 5 basic kicks of Taekwondo, how to punch correctly, the first half of ChonGi-the first pattern in Taekwondo, and ultimately the tenets of Taekwondo and how using them in their life will positively impact them. |
Teens Can Cook Too | Teens Can Cook Too is a basic cooking class for teens that will explore a wide variety of cooking methods. Students will cook on the stovetop, microwave, and oven. Students will also have an opportunity to bring home a variety of recipes and experience the joy of cooking from scratch. |
To Infinity and Beyond | If you are interested in space and space-related careers, then this is the class for you! Students will explore moon phases, planets, and even participate in a space-themed escape room. They will have fun learning all about our solar system! |
TTRPG | Students will create characters and play through a short introductory Dungeons and Dragons campaign, familiarizing themselves with the most popular TTRPG. |
Veterinary Science: Caring for Animals | Are you drawn to the world of furry, scaly, and feathered friends? If you answered yes, then this is the class for you! In this class, students will learn how to safely handle and examine animals, how to give animals injections, and then have the opportunity to practice what they learned on a live animal with the assistance of a local veterinarian. |
Yoga and Fitness | Yoga is an excellent way to introduce fitness to teens and can be a great calming tool. This class will introduce students to yoga and its benefits. Students will learn how yoga can help with mobility, stability, strength, and mental wellness. |
