Archery | This course is designed to teach the Basic Instruction of Archery and application. There will be competitive shooting with games and prizes. If the student already owns a bow, they are encouraged to bring it to class. |
Art of Cooking | The Art of Cooking is a basic cooking class for teens that will explore a wide variety of cooking methods. Students will cook on the stove top, grill, and in the oven. Students will also have an opportunity to bring home a variety of recipes and experience the joy of cooking from scratch. |
Babysitting Basics | Have you ever thought about starting your own babysitting business? In this class, students will gain confidence in caring for younger children and be prepared to handle various situations they may encounter. They will learn about the development stages of children and create appropriate activities to have in their sitter bag for entertainment. We will cover first aide and how to handle emergencies and keep children safe. At the end of class, students will get to create an advertisement for their new babysitting venture and learn how to get hired! |
Basically Batik | In this art class, students will learn about Batik, an art form that originated in Indonesia. They will create their own Batik artwork with a modified twist! |
Creative Art | Join us and let your imagination dance across the canvas! In this class, students will use various items and techniques to have fun and create an unique painting each day! |
Dissection is Fun | Are you interested in a career in the medical field? In this class, students will learn about organs, including their structure and function. This class will involve the dissection of eyeballs, hearts, brains, kidneys, and mice. |
Engineering in Agriculture | Did you know that engineering plays an important role in the agriculture industry? From the construction of barns and other facilities to operating computer software for a major agriculture company, engineering is infused into everyday activities. In this class we will look at the different roles that engineering has in agriculture and learn about the role it plays in everyday life. |
Experiencing Ceramics | Join us in Experiencing Ceramics as students learn what it takes to become a sculptor! Working in clay, whether through hand-building or throwing on the potter’s wheel, can lead to paths in fine art as well as commercial design. In this class, students will design and create their own piece of pottery and will be able to take it home with them. |
Farm to Table | Do you wonder how the food you eat gets from the farm to your plate? If the answer is yes, then join us on an exciting journey where students will learn to make ice cream from milk and butter from cream. They will learn where their steaks come from and how the cow converts grass to milk and brisket. Students must wear tennis shoes and be willing to possibly get dirty. |
Future Teachers | Think you have what it takes to be a teacher? Join us if you are up for the challenge! In this class, students will get a glimpse into lesson planning and classroom management. At the end of the course, students will be able to teach a lesson to their peers. |
Graphic Design is So Radical | In this course, students will be introduced to the increasingly popular art media of graphic design. Students will work throughout the week on a project that they can take home and share with their family and friends. |
Great Escape | Each day students will work to escape a challenge through tasks. They will work as a team with tasks within each challenge, using clues and materials provided. They will learn how to be great detectives, and think creatively to complete each task within the challenge. |
How It’s Made | Are you interested in Engineering? Have you ever wondered how things are made? In this class, students will discuss how various objects are made and also construct their own creations using an assortment of engineering machinery. |
Intro to Pickleball | Intro to pickleball helps show how hobbies can improve overall health including mental health, social health, mood, and physical health. Pickleball is a blend of ping pong, badminton, and tennis. It is fun, easy to learn and can develop into a quick and competitive game. In this class, we will cover rules and game play. Come have fun and learn the sport of Pickleball! |
Lasers in Biology | Did you know lasers are used for a wide variety of purposes, including examining the number and size of the droplets formed when you talk, sneeze or cough? In this class we will use a high powered laser to show some basic principles of laser’s and how they are used in the world of biology. We will also utilize the laser to perform an experiment looking at respiratory droplets. |
Newton’s Three Laws in Action | Rockets, skateboards and cars…what do these things have in common? Their function is all related to Physics! In this class, students will learn to understand physics and Newton’s Three Laws through hands-on, fun activities. |
Pickleball 2 | Pickleball 2 is for students who took Intro to Pickleball in 2021 or are familiar with this fast-growing sport! Students will review pickleball skills and rules and will build on their skills through drills and game play. |
Plant and Soil Science | This class will introduce students to plant anatomy and the components of soil. Class activities will include edible soil layers and dissection of live flowers. If you are interested in a career as a forester, botanist, ecologist, or environmental scientist, this class is for you! |
Scuba Diving | This class introduces kids to scuba diving along with the safety aspects, science behind scuba and the care and handling of equipment. Student will get into pool on the last day. Appropriate forms will need to be completed prior to getting into the water. |
Sound Effects and Soundtracks | In this class, we will discus how Hollywood creates all of the sounds that you hear during major motion pictures and tv shows. We will also examine original music scores. Join us as we create our own sounds that can be used in movies by using various objects, including food. |
Stitching Together | Ever wanted to learn cross-stitch or up-cycle clothes by adding embroidery details? This class will teach you just that. You’ll learn methods on how to make the basic cross-stitch, add embroidery details to clothes, and tips and tricks along the way. |
Stress Less | Our world is full of “stresses”. We can’t guarantee a Stress-Free environment, but we can learn to Stress Less. In this class, students will learn fun ways to cope with stress, work through sadness, manage frustration, and more. Join us to learn how to create more confidence and hope so your “Salty Moods” don’t “Ooze Out” (in not so nice ways) onto the people around you! |
Teen Entrepreneur | Within this class, students will be introduced to the concept of entrepreneurship. They will be given an opportunity to brainstorm business ideas, create a simple budget and marketing plan and launch their small business on “shark tank”. |
Veterinary Science: Caring for Animals | Are you drawn to the world of furry, scaly, and feathered friends? In this class, students will learn how to safely handle and examine animals, how to give animals injections, and then have the opportunity to practice what they learned on a live animal with the assistance of a local veterinarian. |
Yoga and Fitness | Yoga is an excellent way to introduce fitness to teens and can be a great calming tool. This class will introduce students to yoga and its benefits. Students will learn how yoga can help with mobility, stability, strength, and mental wellness. |
