Math That Moves
Math That Moves is a course that was crafted with 1st graders in mind. This course is designed to encourage students to make sense of problems and persevere in finding solutions. This course will encourage students to attend to precision while using appropriate tools strategically. Upon exiting this course, the students will have a stronger understanding of adding and subtracting within 20. They will also have opportunities to reason with various shapes and their attributes.

Planet Pops and Aliens
Inspired by the book “Aliens Love Underpants,” this class will be a hands on fun approach to learning and creating the planets in our solar system, and discovering Aliens….do YOU think Aliens exist in our solar system? Craft the planets with popsicle sticks, clay, or papier-mâché. Design and build your very own Alien….in Underpants!!! The sky is the limit! We will have fun learning about science through art!

Paint By Numbers
An art class for all ages in which mathematics will connect to painting and creating the child’s own masterpiece. Students will learn and take into consideration the mixing of colors, canvas area, mixed media, measurements, etc. to create a masterpiece of their own.

World Travelers
Are you ready for a trip around the world? Each day, world travelers will use music, art, and group activities to learn about four different cultures. Students will explore Hawaii, Australia, Italy, and Antarctica to discover what makes each region unique.

“Ag- Tivities” and Rodeo 101
Learning Ag-tivities offers hands on approaches to teaching students the importance of the agricultural industry in today’s world. They will learn about the products that come from animals and in what ways these products are utilized. They will also learn about the sport of rodeo and will have the opportunity to interact with different types of farm animals.

Construction Challenges: Engineering
Come conquer a new construction challenge each day! Students will engineer structures that will be put to the test. A new structural focus will be tested each day. How tall can your structure stand? How strong is your structure? Can your structure protect Humpty Dumpty from his fall? Is your creative design a sight for all to see?

Drama! Creative activities to stretch the imagination and everyone will have so much fun! Exciting role playing to get students moving, thinking, and creating. Students will engage in super drama activities including a play and puppet making. It will be a fun filled week!

Food, Fun, and Funds
“Money doesn’t grow on trees.” How many times have you said these words to your children? This course will help children understand why they “can’t have it all.” Students will have the opportunity to “work”, earn “income”, and spend that income in the “store”. By participating in a week of fun activities, students will build a foundation for sound personal financial management.

Unsolved Mysteries
Get ready to uncover secrets behind some of the world’s greatest Unsolved Mysteries. Let’s have a look at things that have puzzled scientist for years. We will discover hidden secrets of the famous Crop Circles; we will dive deep with the Great Loch Ness Monster, and get swept up in the Bermuda Triangle. Take a leap out onto a limb if you dare and let’s see what we can uncover together. Let’s use all our resources to decide what we really believe on these GREAT UNSOLVED MYSTERIES!

Kids Can Grill Too
This class will teach kids about cooking safety and charcoal grilling techniques. Kids will have the opportunity to grill several different food items such as hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, chicken tenders, and cheesecake quesadillas. The class will end with a kid’s cook-off on Thursday. Kids will get a Mulerider Cook Team member card at the end of the week.

Looking for a fun way to learn about being healthy while having fun? Our MyPlate class features hands on, interactive activities that teach us about the five food groups, making healthy choices, exercise, and locally grown foods in Arkansas in a fun and exciting way! Your child will be able to create a well balanced meal, write fun recipes for healthy snacks, exercise using GoNoodle, and so much more!

Kids Fitness Boot Camp Made Fun
Does your child need to become more active, improve his/her fitness level, lose weight, take a break from the TV or video games, or just need a little fun? If you answered yes to any one of the above then Kids Fitness Boot Camp Made Fun is for your child. An exciting fun filled exercise class along with health education for kids. The mission of this camp is to gain early awareness of the importance to healthy living and fitness. This camp strives to increase the overall health and fitness level of children in a fun, safe, positive, and motivating environment; as well as, promote healthy living. This camp utilizes obstacle courses, fitness games, sports drills, circuits, healthy living class, and more.

FUNdamentals of Cheer!
FUNdamentals of Cheerleading will be a class for your kids to learn the basics of cheer and also new skills and abilities! They will be learning motions, jumps, cheers, stunts, and tumbling, and learn what cheerleading is all about, while having a blast! This will be a great class to take if your child is ready to have loads of fun with a college cheerleader!

When I Grow Up
“When I Grow Up” is a hands-on class introducing the various steps involved in starting a business or non-profit organization. In each session, students will brainstorm and create a new component of their own business. At the end of the week, students will have a take-away business portfolio to further inspire and encourage them on their academic and professional journey!

Let me take a selfie and more
This class will provide information on how to take pictures with a camera phone or a point and shoot camera (required). We will go over the basic picture taking rules and how to get the best picture with what you have. By the end of the week we will have covered everything from landscape, portrait, and action photography. Each student will have a portfolio to take home.

Come explore math concepts as we travel to different places. From shopping sprees to Disney Land trips, you will create projects in which mathematics will be used in real-world situations.

The Money Game
The “Money Game” is a fun, creative, and interactive workshop for children, where everyone wins! Based on adaptations from the Aflatoun social and financial education model, each child learns the principles of becoming a socially responsible leader, as well as, empowered to make good financial and life choices. Each session will begin with a teambuilding/warm-up activity, followed by 10-15min. formal instruction. The second half of the session is designated for hands-on activities/games, simulating real life scenarios, to test their knowledge.
Session topics are as follows:
1) Money Matters- Money basics
2) Scarce Resources- Budgeting and using resources wisely
3) Free Enterprise- How money can help change the world around you.
4) Rights and Responsibilities- Child Rights and the effects of making wise choices.

Painting with Glyphs
Students will paint on canvas using acrylic paints. A glyph will be used to make the paintings uniquely their own. For example, if students like sports they will paint a section of the canvas red. If not, they will paint the section orange. Students will be using templates and will receive guidance and assistance to complete what will be a work of art that will remind them that, even though many things about us are the same, there are also interests, preferences, and circumstances that make us who we are – one of a kind.

Investing 101 -introduction to stock & bond markets
This class provides an introduction to economic theory and establishes the importance of such in everyday life. It also provides an overview of investing, primarily in stocks and bonds, and affords students the ability to participate with in-class experiences where they can apply practical knowledge.

Robotics
Robots are becoming more prevalent in today’s society. They are used in high level applications such as space exploration right through to commercial vacuuming robots found in everyday households. In this Robotics class, students will have the opportunity to build their own robots, learn how to make them move and respond to light, touch, and sound. Students will use problem solving, math, computer skills, and perseverance in programming their robots to complete a set of mazes. Students will even compete on the accuracy on completing the mazes.

Digging into Science with Archeology
This class will include four days of scientific discovery as participants learn about archeology. Students will use archeological methods to form a solid understanding of how scientists study the people who once lived in Arkansas. Instructors will cover basic concepts of archeological excavation and an introduction to Arkansas archeology on the first day. On the second day, participates will examine artifacts and learn what archeologists look for in these artifacts. For the third and fourth days, participants will take a closer look at animal and plant remains recovered from archeological sites. This course is a great way for young students to engage in the sciences with an additional focus on history. We will cover STEM-based concepts and bridge these concepts with the humanities.

Exploring the Periodic Table
Chemistry is a science that deals with the composition and structure of materials. Materials include everything which has mass and the building blocks for materials are elements. In this class we will explore the periodic table of the elements in a fun and entertaining way with lots of group problem solving. No prior knowledge is required. At the end of the class you will have a different outlook on the periodic table for sure!
