Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Counselor Education in the College of Education and Human Performance for Fall 2024. The faculty member will service in the Clinical and Mental Health Counseling program. Remote faculty will be considered.
SAU is a public regional institution with a total enrollment of approximately 4,700 undergraduate and graduate students and over 350 faculty and staff. Our campus is located in Magnolia, a city of 11,000 in rural southwest Arkansas, approximately 50 miles east of Texarkana and 140 miles southwest of Little Rock. Duties: serve as faculty in the Clinical and Mental Health Counseling program; advise candidates for successful program completion; develop and teach graduate level classes in the Counselor Education Program; committee service and leadership; develop and maintain scholarly activity; work with professionals from clinical counseling settings; participate in opportunities to recruit, mentor and retain students and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program (ABD will be considered); two or more years of relevant professional counseling experience; must be able to teach evidence-based counseling practices that are based on rigorous research methodologies; teaching experience at the graduate level; LPC eligible; CACREP accreditation experience preferred; expertise in online and hybrid instruction preferred.
