Southern Arkansas University’s College of Science and Engineering is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Animal Science. The rapidly growing Agriculture department is located in a modern and well-equipped 33,000 square foot Agriculture Science building. The successful candidate will teach the introductory animal science courses and labs as well as courses in animal science. Additional teaching responsibilities may include a course in the candidate’s area of expertise. Duties: Teach upper and lower division animal science and associated labs as well as courses in the applicant’s area of expertise; teaching load is expected to average 12 hours per semester; advise students; supervise undergraduate research projects; serve on committees; perform scholarly activity; engage in recruitment, retention and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Animal Science preferred by the time of employment; ABD candidates will be accepted; ability to teach undergraduate students; excellent communication skills; ability to work well with people; have a strong desire to interact with students both inside and outside of the classroom.
