Staff Senate Meeting Minutes

All senators are expected to attend. Visitors are always welcome to attend Staff Senate meetings.
Staff Senators Present: Marisa Grippo, Margarita Norment, Wilson Impson, Gary Hickson, Greg Taylor, Brittany Lenard, Anne
Sands, Sage Woodham, and Jennifer England
Proxies: none

Dr. Trey Berry, University President
Dr. Lisa Oden, Faculty Senate President
Call to order: 2:00 p.m.
Approval of Minutes:
Wednesday, August 24, 2022 – Staff Senate Meeting
Minutes were approved. (Motion – Woodham, Second – Impson)
Committee Reports:
– Wilson: Faculty Senate meeting on September 9, 2022
– Margarita: updates from Academic Affairs Committee
– Sage: the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee has not met, but will soon.
Old Business:
Flexible schedules: Roger Giles emailed and said he would take to VPC. Dr. Allen reached
out for more details from Marisa. More to come soon.
New Business:
- Special election for vacant positions
- President’s Unit
- Administration and Finance Unit
- Decided to send out email to all Staff to ask for interest.
- Fall service project
Going to table until next time to have Brian from UPD. Wanting to ask what can be
accomplished by doing Look Up campaign again. - Sage: Student Athletic Advisory Committee –
Green Bandana Challenge (green for mental health)
They have a card with QR code linking to mental health resources.
Started initiative last spring… partnered with Counseling Center and Saddle Up program.

Next meeting of the Staff Senate is scheduled for Wednesday, October 19th at 2 pm.
