The meeting was called to order by President Eric Plummer. Members present included senate members La’Tricia Davis, Brenda Garrett, Charles Honza, Josh Kee, Shelly Whaley, Kendra Copeland, Essie Moore, Ceil Bridges, Eric Plummer, Gaye Calhoun, Cynthia Blake, Sandra Smith, and Houston Taylor. Visitors included Daniel Page.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the January 20, 2010 meeting were approved with a motion from La’Tricia Davis and a second from Josh Kee.
Old Business
The possibility of education benefits for part-time employees was discussed. In the past, a few part-time employees have received insurance benefits. It was proposed that maybe a 25% tuition waiver could be approved for part-time employees. Eric will discuss the issue with Roger Giles and report back next meeting. A motion to table this discussion until the next meeting was made by Charles Honza and seconded by Essie Moore.

Faculty Senate Meeting Report
This report was postponed.
Research Committee
Ceil Bridges reported that the Human Subjects Committee recently met. No other information was given.
New Business
There was no new business.
Other
Shelly Whaley shared about various degree requirements that are coming in the future and the efforts to match our curriculum with what is being required by legislation in Higher Ed.
Also, it is reported that SAU is #1 in the state for graduate student hour increases.
