The Staff Senate met on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Reynolds 205. Senators in attendance were Ceil Bridges, Kendra Copeland, LaTricia Davis, Brenda Garrett, Josh Kee, Jeremy Langley, Eric Plummer, Shawana Reed, Becki Talley, Houston Taylor, Amber Sharp, Sandra Walker, Lesley Walthall, and Wilma Williams. Josh Kee served as proxy for Sarah Jennings.
Approval of Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Houston Taylor. Josh Kee made a motion to accept the minutes with a second by Jeramy Langley.

There was no old business.
Committee Reports
Student Affairs
Lesley Walthall reported that the Student Affairs Committee had met. 28 Who’s Who applicants were reviewed and 15 were awarded. Four groups asked to be recognized on campus and all were approved.
Academic Affairs
LaTricia Davis reported that the Academic Affairs Committee had met. Approximately 270 items were passed at the meeting.
New Business
There was no new business.
Other
Staff Employee Updates
Updates were given on employees who have been mentioned in the past meetings that have been facing serious illnesses. These employees still need to be remembered in our thoughts and prayers.
Campus Lighting
Houston Taylor noted that new lights had been installed on the east side of the walking track. Wilma Williams reported that new lights will be installed in front of Reynolds soon. Also new lights will be installed in front of the Business Building to the new Science Center in the future.

The motion to adjourn was made by Jeremy Langley and seconded by Eric Plummer. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Reynolds 205.
