Three intern part-time positions are available this coming fall of 2024 in one of the local industries in Magnolia within a 1.5-mile radius of the SAU campus. The opportunity is led by Dr. Hayder Zghair, Department of Engineering, College of Science and Engineering. Engineering and Business students are invited to apply. At the end of the semester, this opportunity could be turned into a full-time position. It depends on the best performance and your degree standing.
Total weekly hours are between 16 – 20 hours/week, which could be visit/day, two visits/day, or three custom visits during the week. Each visit is four hours.
The nature of the job is working on continuous improvement projects, and each is planned to be one student to practice continuous industrial improvement skills such as manufacturing, quality, process waste elimination, production planning, etc. Team-based work identifies problems that cause the root and suggests solutions. The Faculty supervisor and Industrial supervisor will supervise it. A high-level course (ENGR Applied Project) is also available to register in that could fit into your elective courses pool. Prior training for five days and a certificate will be provided. Training sessions will be provided to prepare interns for the job, along with supportive material will be posted.
