J.B. Hunt is seeking to hire an Operations Intern for the Summer of 2026. Under close supervision, this position will gain hands-on experience supporting transportation brokerage operations. This role gains exposure to market dynamics, carrier negotiation strategies, and tools used to deliver efficient solutions. This role learns about establishing a carrier base and attaining optimal margins while delivering best-in-class service execution.

Responsibilities:

• Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry
• Become involved and participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor freight movement to uphold service expectations
• Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and contribute to revenue and margin goals
• Observe and practice serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers: gain competence in how service failures are proactively communicated to minimize cost and operational inefficiencies while providing best-in-class service
• Learn about the technology and tools J.B. Hunt leverages to streamline workflows, enable carrier access to load management, and promote efficiency

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program or graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
