Southern Aluminum is seeking to hire an IT Systems & Support Specialist. The IT Systems & Support Specialist will serve as a versatile resource within the IT function, combining frontline support responsibilities with systems administration and project work. This role provides critical day-to-day technical assistance to employees while also contributing to the configuration, maintenance, and improvement of business applications and IT infrastructure. Acting as a “second set of hands” to the Director of Systems & IT, this
position is both hands-on and systems-focused, ensuring the organization’s technology environment is secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide end-user support for hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Assist with user account management, MFA, and system access.
- Support and maintain ERP and CRM systems, including basic troubleshooting, configuration, and user training.
- Manage SharePoint sites and build simple automation workflows (e.g., Power Automate).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across endpoints, networks, and business applications.
- Collaborate with the Director of Systems & IT on IT projects, upgrades, integrations, and new system implementations.
- Maintain IT security standards, including backups, patching, and user access controls.
- Develop and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and best practices.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and support providers as needed.
- Identify and recommend technology solutions to improve workflows and efficiency.
- (As experience allows) Provide mentorship or guidance to IT support staff or interns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of IT experience, including a mix of technical support and systems/application administration.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems (troubleshooting and configuration experience preferred).
- Experience with SharePoint management and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate) preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Project coordination or IT project experience a plus.
