The MCSA Auxiliary Helen Wright Memorial Scholarship Award Criteria
The scholarship provides tuition and books in whole or in part to individuals who reside within a forty-mile radius of El Dorado limited to the state of Arkansas, pursuing health care careers at approved Arkansas educational institutions. Recipients must agree to employment in a health-related career at the Medical Center of South Arkansas immediately following the completion of their course of study for a period of one year for each year funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
The Curtis W. Kinard Memorial Scholarship Award Criteria
Scholarships shall be used to provide tuition and books in whole or in part to individuals who live within a 100-mile radius of El Dorado and are pursuing healthcare careers at approved educational institutions. Recipients must agree to employment in a health-related career in Union County, Arkansas immediately following the completion of their course of study for a period of one year for each year funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
Lucy A. Ring Memorial Scholarship Criteria
Scholarships shall be used for careers in healthcare or public education grades K-12. Recipients must be Union County, Arkansas residents but there are no geographical limits on the place of study. Recipients must agree to employment in a healthcare career at Medical Center of South Arkansas or SHARE Foundation or in Union County, Arkansas public education grades K-12 immediately following the completion of their course of study for a period of one year for each year funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
Larkin M. Wilson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Criteria
Scholarships shall be used to provide tuition and books in whole or in part to Union County, Arkansas residents pursuing healthcare careers at approved educational institutions. Recipients must agree to employment in a health-related career at the Medical Center of South Arkansas or SHARE Foundation immediately following the completion of their course of study for a period of six months for each semester funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
Dr. Warren S. & Wilma “Billie” Riley Scholarship Award Criteria
Scholarships shall be used to provide and/or reimburse for tuition and books in whole or in part to students that are studying or have studied to become registered nurses or for advanced training of registered nurses. Students must be willing to work for MCSA or SHARE Foundation immediately following the completion of their course of study for a period of six months for each semester funded, with a minimum work requirement of one year. There are no geographical limitations on residence or place of study.
Barton Scholarship Criteria
Scholarships are exclusively for full-time Registered Nursing students at Southern Arkansas University. Recipients agree to employment in a nursing career at Medical Center of South Arkansas immediately following the completion of their course of study for a period of one year for each year funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
Union County Medical Scholarship Criteria
The scholarship shall be used for Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathy candidates who reside within a 75-mile radius of El Dorado, Arkansas. There are no geographical limits on the place of study as long as they are approved and/or accredited educational institutions. Recipients must agree to become employed in Union County, Arkansas immediately following the completion of their internship and/or residency program for a period of six months for each semester funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
UAMS Master of Public Health Scholarship Criteria
The scholarship provides tuition in whole or in part for persons pursuing a Master of Public Health Degree from UAMS. Applicants must live in Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Columbia, Dallas or Union Counties in Arkansas. Recipients must agree to become employed in Union County, Arkansas immediately following the completion of their course of study utilizing their MPH Degree for a period of six months for each semester funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
Dr. J. C. Callaway Memorial Scholarship Fund
The scholarship provides tuition and books in whole or in part for nontraditional students pursuing medical-related careers at South Arkansas Community College with heavier consideration being given to students accepted into the Surgical Technology Program.
Recipients must work full-time in their stated career immediately following graduation or completion of their course of study for a period of six consecutive months for each semester funded, with a minimum work requirement of one year even if only one semester is funded.
The John R. Williamson, M.D. Memorial Scholarship Award
All scholarships shall be used to provide tuition and books in full or in part to individuals who live in Union County, Arkansas, and are pursuing health-related careers at approved educational institutions. Recipients must agree to employment in a health-related career in Union County immediately following the completion of their course of study for a period of one year for each year funded with a minimum work requirement of one year.
