Southern Arkansas University is bringing healthcare home when it comes to fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The University made the decision early on to purchase two Rapid Testing machines over the summer which has provided a very important advantage in the battle against COVID-19.
SAU sets enrollment records even in pandemic
Even in the midst of the uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 crisis, Southern Arkansas University surpassed Fall 2019 college enrollment (excluding high school enrollment) by 55 with 4,107 students compared to 4,052. SAU postpones Spring Commencement ceremonies
Southern Arkansas University is committed to the safety and wellbeing of its students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends. During this worldwide pandemic, the University has been forced to make unprecedented decisions in an effort to protect its most valuable asset — its people. Because of this, SAU is announcing that the May 2020 commencement ceremonies will be postponed and combined with its summer ceremonies on August 7 and August 8.
Degrees for spring graduates will be conferred in May and students will receive diplomas this summer. However, the University welcomes all graduates, along with their families and friends, to have the opportunity to celebrate this milestone by attending a full commencement ceremony in August. Students will receive more information regarding these ceremonies from the Office of the Registrar in the coming weeks.
