The hard work of two professors from the College of Science and Technology at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, has paid off with the recent opening of the Center for Teaching Excellence in Math and Science.

The Magnolia chapter of South Arkansas Women’s Network is sponsoring an academic scholarship at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, in the amount of $200 to be used to offset the cost of books or other designated purposes not interfering with the eligibility of other scholarships.
Applicants must be a non-traditional (24 years old or older) female student

Doug Waterfield, assistant professor of art at Southern Arkansas University, recently signed a contract for representation with the Cox Creative Gallery in Little Rock.
“I am excited to be working with the Cox Creative Gallery,” said Waterfield. “It will be great to have a regular venue in which to display and sell my work.”

Dr. Yonghu Dai, assistant professor of Spanish at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, published a bilingual anthology (Spanish and Chinese) of the Nicaraguan poet Ruben Dario.
Dai started his research and translation on Dario when he was a graduate student at Peking University in China. He wrote a thesis on the Nicaraguan poet for his master’s degree
