Nominations are invited for the 2023-2024 Diversity Excellence Awards at Southern Arkansas University. These awards were recommended by the SAU Diversity Initiative Task Force, endorsed by the Faculty and Staff Senates, and approved by the President to begin this year.
These awards recognize a faculty member, a staff member, and a student group for their contributions to promoting, supporting, and improving diversity and inclusion as a core component of valuing people at SAU. The individuals and groups nominated should exemplify the valuing people and diversity goals of SAU through their participation and involvement with diverse individuals and groups, and providing leadership to encourage meaningful interaction and activities among diverse groups to improve campus climate.
To be eligible, faculty or staff members must have been continuously employed since January 1, 2022. Nominations may be submitted online or to the Office of Human Resources. Supporting material may be attached as appendices. Each award recipient will receive a $500 honorarium.
The selection committee will be made up of previous award recipients (those not eligible to receive the award for the current year).
