The Department of Nursing at Southern Arkansas University (SAU) is seeking applications for an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Instructor to work in the skills, clinical, and simulation environment with prelicensure nursing students.
Duties: deliver instruction, supervision, and evaluation of pre-licensure nursing students in skills lab, clinical, and simulation environments; teach face-to-face clinical instruction of BSN students in skills, clinical, and/or simulation settings; reinforce course and program outcomes as directed by the Course Coordinator, Model safe, competent, and ethical nursing practice always; ensure compliance with site policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; maintain accurate, timely documentation of student performance and attendance; communicate student progress, concerns, and evaluations promptly to the Course Coordinator; participate in orientation, required training, competency validation, and faculty meetings; maintain confidentiality, academic integrity, and appropriate professional boundaries; uphold the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice; provide clinical sites with required schedules, including student first names, last initials, areas assigned, and dates/times of attendance and other duties assigned.
Qualifications: Hold an active, unrestricted registered nurse license to practice in Arkansas; possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution; a master’s or doctoral degree is preferred; have a minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience in the assigned specialty area; demonstrate current clinical competence relevant to teaching responsibilities; maintain documentation of ongoing continuing education consistent with clinical and educational standards; perform instructional duties under the direction and oversight of a graduate-prepared full-time nursing faculty member; adhere to institutional, programmatic, regulatory, and accreditation standards governing clinical instruction; exhibit professionalism, ethical conduct, and a strong commitment to student learning; proficient in the use of LMS, computer equipment (i.e. computer, monitors, microphones), PowerPoint, Excel, Zoom meetings; prior teaching experience is preferred.
