The Department of Doctoral Studies (School of Graduate Studies) at Southern Arkansas University (SAU) is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the online Doctor of Education in Rural and Diverse Educational Leadership program. This is a 12-month position with a preferred start date of January 2026. We seek a dynamic and collaborative scholar with a strong background in academic writing, quantitative research methodology, and applied statistical analysis using SPSS. Flexible work arrangements (including remote work) may be considered depending on the candidate’s qualifications and ability to meet program needs.
Duties: teach the equivalent of 9 doctoral-level hours (3 courses of the equivalent) each Spring/Fall semester and 2 courses Summer or 8 course equivalents per year; guide students through the dissertation process serving as dissertation committee chair; lead sections of comprehensive examinations; gather and analyze candidate data for instructional and program improvement; participate in retention activities for the doctoral program; engage in limited service opportunities for the program, department, college, and university; guide, assess, and evaluate doctoral students’ writing; work collaboratively with colleagues; assist with preparing program reports for university and state and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in educational, administration, or a closely related field required; minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a college or university settings; experience teaching doctoral-level courses, guiding dissertations, supporting doctoral writing and methodology, and engaging in scholarly activity; background in academic writing, quantitative research methodologies, and applied statistical analysis using SPSS; proven experience teaching graduate level courses online; strong interpersonal and leadership skills that foster teamwork, balance individual and group responsibilities, and demonstrate highly nuanced communication abilities; demonstrated success in serving students from diverse backgrounds required; Commitment to excellence and leadership development for diverse student populations willingness and eagerness to learn.
