Duties: Review, evaluate, and analyze financial data regarding student accounts; counsel students, parents, and staff regarding tuition and fees, account balances, scholarships, waivers, payments, payment plans, refunds, and related policies and procedures; provide solutions for tuition repayment when able; receive, record, and reconcile scholarship checks; assist with weekly student refunds; provide quality customer service; perform due diligence procedures on accounts; process transcript requests, verification forms, financial deferments/cancellations, and student emergency loans; use computer database to access, input, and retrieve student financial records; understand, apply and remove student financial holds; actively assist in the student registration; work closely and collaboratively with other student accounts specialists and other departments on campus; reconcile various accounts; ensure compliance with FERPA and other regulations applicable to student accounts; assist with special events and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree desired, but a combination of experience/education may be substituted; two (2) years related work experience, with higher education preferred; communicate well verbally and in writing; work independently and collaboratively with special projects; able to multi-task, utilize time management and be well organized; must be detail oriented and self-motivated; work in a fast paced environment; use a computer database and process; basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; apply de-escalation techniques and handle potentially stressful situations.
