Fishing

Southern Arkansas University has a competitive bass fishing team that competes nationally in BASS and MLF series. We currently have two wrapped school boats for team members that are capable and have the knowledge of running these boats. If you chose to bring your own boat we have a covered boat storage facility which houses up to 10 boats, each place having a plugin to charge your boat.

The team is coached by Chris Boswell who has been with the team for five years. Since then the team has qualified for three different national championships and looks to qualifying for more.

Outreach

As a team we also will be getting out and doing volunteer work. Starting in the Fall of 2025 the team will serve as a Panther Partner. Team members will go to the local elementary schools and either greet the kids in the morning during drop off or going to the school during the day and play with them at recess.

Future

The future of the SAU fishing team is bright! We look forward to not only getting to the national championship, but also winning it. We also are looking at ways to fish year-round as a team ,not just during the school year.
