Prepare your Car for Below Freezing Temperatures

With below freezing and extreme temperatures expected, it’s important to take extra precautions when starting and warming up your car to ensure your safety and prevent damage. Here are some helpful tips:

  1. Allow Your Car to Warm Up: Let your engine run for a few minutes before driving. This gives the oil time to circulate and ensures your engine is properly lubricated.
  2. Start Slowly: Avoid revving the engine immediately. Let it idle for 2-3 minutes to allow the fluids to adjust to the cold.
  3. Clear Ice/Frost: Make sure your windshield, mirrors, and headlights are completely clear of ice/frost before driving.
  4. Tire Pressure: Cold temperatures can cause tire pressure to drop. Check and adjust your tire pressure to avoid issues on the road.

Stay safe and stay warm, Muleriders!
