The redesign process was based on the need to improve retention of underprepared students and course completion in reading, writing, and math remediation. SAU’s redesign was extensive and results exceeded any historical student success data at the university.

Purpose of Redesign:
To increase student success in developmental literacy, math, Composition I, and College Algebra courses for the purpose of increasing the number of students needing remediation who complete a college degree.

Fast Start math, dual-enrollment options, technology enriched delivery, targeted curriculum, required supervised study, weekly progress tracking, and ongoing student support
