New Opportunity Starting Fall 2022!
Mulerider $ense is offering 15 week peer financial counseling positions each semester for upper level students to gain experience while studying in school. All positions are under the SAU+VISTA department and report to the SAU+VISTA Financial Literacy Fellow. While working in these positions, students will experience office environment and build relationships with SAU staff and other students. As a reward for their service, each counselor will receive a $500 scholarship or stipend at the end of the semester. Below is an overview of the position, listed requirements and duties.
Financial Counselor Overview:
Peer-to-peer counseling provides students a comfortable but professional setting to grow their financial knowledge. Financial counselors will guide and help students learn how to manage their money and answer any questions the students have. This is a great opportunity for upper-level college students who plan on pursuing financial planning as a career.
Requirements:
- Preferably Junior or Senior level
- Good standing with the University
- At least a 3.0+ GPA
- Knowledgeable/Experience in
- Personal Finance
- Money Management
- Accounting
- Financial Planning

Duties:
- Counsel students about personal finance topics
- Create modules based on financial topics such as budgeting, saving, investments, etc.
- Help develop content for Molly Ann’s $ense of the Day
- Brainstorm and create workshops for students to grow their financial knowledge
- Email clients
- Help VISTA with necessary duties
- Volunteer at events
