Class proposals for Mulerider Kids College (MKC) and the second annual Mulerider Teen College (MTC) will be accepted beginning Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. Deadline for submissions is Jan. 10, 2018.
MKC is set for June 25-28, 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. MTC is July 9-11, 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Organizers are looking for creative, educational and fun class ideas. They may be submitted online at http://web.saumag.edu/kids-college. Here is the direct link to the teacher information and form.
For accepted class proposals, teachers will receive a stipend of $175 per class (or $525 per camp). Also, teachers’ children can attend free. The MKC/MTC camps also depend on help from volunteers, and anyone interested can RSVP on the website.
MKC is a summer enrichment program for children entering into 1st through 6th grades. It is a four-day camp where students will take three 60 minute classes of their choice, per availability. The goal is to provide children with exciting and stimulating learning opportunities to enhance their education without the pressure of grades, homework, or tests. MKC offers several unique classes that are fun, entertaining, and educational.
MTC is designed to give junior high students fun and educational experiences outside of a regular classroom setting. Students will have the opportunity to choose three classes, participate in leadership activities, and experience hands-on learning. They will gain insight into different subject areas that will ultimately help them decide what college majors to pursue.
