Mulerider Marshals
SAU is establishing a new spirit group to assist the Mulerider and to take care of Molly Ann. A school mascot encourages everyone to get more involved. A mascot provides entertainment and builds spirit at campus and community events. A school mascot adds personification of your college’s brand. The best college mascots provide limitless marketing and PR opportunities. While the Mulerider is the mascot, Molly Ann and her predecessors are essential.
This new group will be called the Mulerider Marshals (MM). This group of 7-9 individuals will support the Mulerider at events and provide daily care for Molly Ann, including riding her on a regular basis. This care will include feeding, brushing, preparing her for events (football games, preview days, BAM), etc. Selection will be on an annual basis, but individuals may reapply for additional years.
Compensation: $500 per semester plus hourly wage for all hours worked
While experience with mules or horses is not required, it is highly preferred. A schedule of requirements will be prepared at the beginning of each semester of known events. Normally two MM will be present any time the Mulerider is attending an event. Molly Ann may even make separate appearances.
One or two individuals will be assigned each day for feeding and other daily care. The MM will decide if feeding is on a weekly basis or some other schedule.
