In addition to the other large ensembles, Southern Arkansas University also has the Rider Sound, which performs at all men’s and women’s basketball home games. Auditions are held for the group in the fall semester and scholarships are available to students who participate. 

The Rider Sound is directed by Dr. Andrew Anderson.

The Southern Arkansas University Band Program also hosts a variety of small instrumental ensembles that students may participate in. These ensembles include:
