Game, Animation, & Simulation Design
Artist Biography: Jackson Hill is an American artist who specializes in 3D modeling and graphic design. He studied Game Animation and Design at Southern Arkansas University, where he continued to develop his passion for art, something he first realized while he was in high school. The vast majority of his work consists of passion projects – things he has modeled and textured because he was inspired by various works in pop culture, and sought to give the 2D images a new life as fully fleshed out models. He generally prefers hard-surface modeling over organic structure, but recently has taken interest in digital worldbuilding and landscape shots. By using new software and techniques, he strives to make his portfolio as diverse as possible, constantly trying new and challenging things that force him to get creative when problem solving, something he readily welcomes into his projects. He also greatly enjoys the design process behind his models, specifically weaponry and armor. He strives to make each piece unique, seeking to use the perfect combination of utility and aesthetic to make beautiful but deadly pieces. Much of his artistic influence stems from fellow game designers whose work has shaped the very foundation of the industry, especially The Legend of Zelda. He thoroughly enjoys putting new spins on traditional concepts and ideas in an attempt to create something unique. His love for creating and viewing art in games can be directly attributed to his passion for gaming and his appreciation for the developers whose work he grew up alongside.
