Artist Biography: Andrew Yandell is a digital 3d artist from the small-town Corning, Arkansas. Yandell’s work shows a focus on creating environmental props and assets that lead the viewer into the scene where the props can be seen. Yandell’s interest in art comes from his frustration of wanting to see what new unheard-of worlds or characters never met before, but not being able to have any vision of what it was and so he chose art as a way to bring his ideas to life and make it his escape from reality, later in life while he was working as a Mental Health Para-Professional he saw how others needed art as a way of expressing oneself and using it as a way as a distraction or a coping mechanism. Wanting to help others be creating art and wanting to get out of a high-stress job he decided to peruse his passion and study at Southern Arkansas University in the Game, Animation, and Simulation program.
Yandell’s artwork has a focus on shape, light, and color taking inspiration from the design aspect of impressionism painters and using subject material that is found in everyday life. Most of the pieces that are present in Yandell’s uses one of the characteristics of the following things described as the base of the artwork and builds upon that idea showing how these concepts can mean more and how important they can be when view by others. Also, amount the artworks there is a theme and genre with inspiration to medieval fantasy and other genres that can be seen.
