As an artist, I have always been told that one’s greatest inspiration comes from our own personal life and its experiences. I find this to be very true, and that is exactly what the heart of my series is. My works are illustrations that follow the story of a little cat that has a lot to learn and he ends up going on an adventure of a lifetime. For this story I took inspiration from my real-life pets and used my interpretation of them to give them their personalities. If there is anything I want for viewers to take from this story it is that no matter what obstacles one faces in life, they can get through them.
My works are illustrations of moments from my story following my main character and my two supporting characters. I painted them digitally with Adobe Photoshop, I chose to do this project in a digital format because of my newfound love for digital art. As you can see in each illustration, they show them in their own environments and them interacting with each other. I decided to paint them and their environments in a more cartoony style as I feel that it would be more appealing to my audience who are both younger and older. Other than real-life, some other forms of inspiration come from many artist that have worked in the animation industry such as Glen Kean, and Dean DeBlois. I love their art styles and how they tell compelling stories through the medium of art and animation. For the future of my story, I hope to bring it to life in the form of animation to further share it with others.
