Career options are almost limitless for a graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. Options include positions in human resource management, retail management, supply chain operations, manufacturing management, small business management, nonprofit management, and more. Entry-level management positions often require new hires to go through company-specific management training programs and to serve as assistant managers before being promoted to higher levels.
In the first two years of a four-year business degree, students take a broad range of classes. Upper-level courses include advanced business courses that are taken by all business majors and major-specific courses that allow Management students to specialize in their areas of interest.
- All Management majors take courses in leadership and ethics, entrepreneurship, human resource management, supply chain management, and total quality management.
- Because management is such a broad area, Management majors are encouraged to choose courses that fit their career goals. They may choose nine hours of electives from the following: upper-level courses from any department in the Rankin College of Business, industrial psychology from the Behavioral Sciences department, and/or work analysis from Engineering.
- Students are assigned to advisors who are members of the RCB management faculty to help with class scheduling, professional mentoring, and career placement.

The Rankin College of Business has a strong record of job placement for graduates in all fields, and management majors are no exception. Management students are given the foundational knowledge needed for careers in Operations Management, Human Resource Management, Small Business Management, and any number of supervisory positions.

- Student organizations like Phi Beta Lambda, ENACTUS, Emerging Entrepreneurs, the Finance and Economics Society, and the Business Student Investment Advisory Council provide opportunities for fun, leadership, and networking
- Guest lectures and workshops conducted by business professionals and recognized speakers
- Student travel both within and outside the region and the US: Recent trips included tours of financial institutions in New York and Chicago, advertising agencies in Dallas and Chicago, and Arkansas businesses like Walmart, Tyson, and J.B. Hunt and international destinations such as Costa Rica.
- The Arkansas Small Business Development and Technology Center is located on the first floor of the business building. The center offers seminars and other resources that are free to students and houses the Entrepreneurship Center.
Faculty Expertise
The Rankin College of Business is AACSB certified. All upper level professors are required to hold doctorates from AACSB certified universities or to have significant professional experience in the areas in which they teach.
