The mission of the program in foreign language in Spanish is to develop student proficiency in listening/comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. The program generally increases student awareness of the range and power of language, develops an understanding of important authors and traditions in Spanish literature, and expands student appreciation for other languages and cultures – knowledge that is vital for success in a global society.
