Four students from Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, participated in the 2006 Arkansas Undergraduate Research Conference at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia on April 21 and 22.

SAU students earn prizes in poster contest
Five students were recently recognized by the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, for placing in the poster contest held in honor of Foreign Language Month.
The theme for this year’s poster contest was “Languages Bring Cultures Together.”
All students currently enrolled in a French or Spanish course at SAU were eligible
SAU students attend international conference
Eight students from the Epsilon Theta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, attended the international English honor society’s conference in Portland, Oregon. Also attending was Dr. Shannin Schroeder, faculty sponsor, and one alumnus.

Aaron Blandon, a filmmaker, will be this year’s featured speaker at the Kathleen Mallory Distinguished Lecture Series at Southern Arkansas University. The lecture is set for Wednesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in Foundation Hall in the Donald W. Reynolds Campus and Community Center on the SAU campus.

Youth Writing Festival held on SAU campus
The Department of English and Foreign Languages at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, and the Gerald F. and Betty Fincher Scott Academic Endowment, recently sponsored its annual youth writing festival on the University campus.
The endowment is made possible through Harold and D.J. Fincher and the Peoples Bank of Magnolia and Waldo.
