Southern Arkansas University and University of Arkansas-Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law have agreed to a 4+3 program, which guarantees any SAU graduate who meets the criteria admission to Bowen School of Law.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding between SAU and UALR’s Bowen School of Law, prospective law students will qualify for the 4+3 pathway program and be guaranteed acceptance into the Bowen School of Law if they meet the following criteria:
- The student has earned a bachelor’s degree from SAU; and
- The student has achieved a cumulative UGPA of 3.40 or higher; and
- The student has scored 154 or higher on the LSAT within the previous five years of matriculation to the Bowen School of Law; and
- The student has demonstrated “good character and possesses no issues that would hinder admission to the bar.”
“This is a great opportunity for our students,” says Dr. Paul Babbitt, associate professor and chair of the history, political science, and geography department at SAU. “This provides students with a clear understanding of the requirements for admission to law school and should motivate them throughout their time at Southern Arkansas University.”
According to the William H. Bowen School of Law website, the 4+3 pathway program is one of three exclusive admission options for prospective students. Students who do not meet the criteria for guaranteed admission are still encouraged to apply to the Bowen School of Law.
