Southern Arkansas University is excited to announce that the Josh Abbott Band will headline its fall concert on Tuesday, November 28, at Story Arena located on U.S. 82 on the north side of Magnolia. The gates will open at 6:00 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend. No bags, purses, or backpacks will be allowed. Additionally, alcoholic beverages, bottles, or drinks will not be permitted.
“We are excited for the return of SAU’s Fall Concert and the ability to provide a free performance for fans across our region,” said Kandice Herron, associate dean of parent and student engagement. “We know that the Josh Abbott Band will put on a great show for our students and the community.”
Country fans have been singing Josh Abbott Band songs for over a decade. The seven-piece group’s relentless on-stage attitude quickly made it to a successful touring act, building out from a Texas band to a regional act to a national crew with a devout following from coast to coast. Two of their projects, Small Town Family Dream and Front Row Seat, scored top 10 debuts on the Billboard Country Albums chart, while five titles cracked the Billboard Country Singles list, including a pair, –”Oh, Tonight” with Kacey Musgraves and “Wasn’t That Drunk,” with Carley Pearce – that represented their first chart appearances.
“We are really excited about this concert,” said Andrew Graydon, student engagement coordinator. “It’s been nearly four years since we were last able to provide this concert series for our students and the community, and we eagerly anticipate the moment when Josh Abbott Band graces the center stage.”
