Southern Arkansas University will continue to waive the ACT and SAT composite score requirements for freshman admissions through fall 2021 entrance.
“Even though testing sites are beginning to reopen, it is for limited capacity and it may still be difficult for students to sit for the entrance exams,” said Dr. Trey Berry, president of SAU. “As this academic year has presented so many challenges for students, we didn’t want this to be another hurdle for them. We will continue to allow students to have the opportunity to gain admission to SAU this year with this waiver.”
The waiver will be approved provided the student meets other admission requirements and has a minimum cumulative 2.30 GPA on their 7th or 8th semester high school transcript.
“High school seniors are anxious to apply and be admitted to SAU while waiting on testing opportunities,” said Sarah Jennings, assistant vice president for enrollment services. “This GPA option will allow those qualified students to be admitted and start the enrollment process for fall 2021 now!”
Freshmen are required to have placement scores. SAU will use other assessment instruments or scores for course placement as needed before registration.
