We are again grateful to report that to date we have no confirmed cases on the campuses of the SAU System. Our faculty and staff are working continuously to move curriculum delivery online, student services online, and follow the Centers for Disease Control and local and state health officials’ guidelines to minimize the spread of coronavirus.
Early this morning, Dr. Trey Berry gave staff some good news. All staff will be receiving a Spring Break this year. Dr. Berry made the announcement in an email and urged staff members to enjoy a staycation near family and home. He thanked the staff for their continuous dedication while campus works to define a new normal.
During Spring Break, University Police will continue to patrol campus and meals will continue to be provided for students who remain in residence halls. University Health Services will remain on call for our students.
All counselors with the SAU Counseling Center are now certified telecounselors. The ability to provide counseling service in the midst of the public health emergency is extremely important to us. Changes to course curriculum delivery and interrupted social plans create additional anxiety for students, and certifying all our counselors is one more way we have to continue valuable student support.
