The Rankin College of Business is excited to announce a beneficial new collaboration with the Barron’s in Education Program from Dow Jones. Dr. Robin Sronce, dean of the College, said a license providing 24/7 access to Barron’s content will enhance the business curriculum for faculty and students.
The subscription to Barron’s was made possible by a gift from The Don McDonald Group at Merrill. “Barron’s will provide additional insights into financial topics,” said Sronce. “The opportunity for our finance students to tour the Dow Jones Headquarters during our spring trip to New York is another exciting benefit of Barron’s in Education.”
She expressed her sincere thanks to Don McDonald and The Don McDonald Group for investing in the Rankin College. McDonald is a financial advisor based in Fort Smith, Arkansas. His team is comprised of talented and experienced investment professionals with strong client relationships based on trust and personalized service.
“It’s my privilege to help SAU students take the next step in preparing for a career,” said McDonald, a 1989 alumnus of SAU. The subscription to Barron’s will allow faculty to integrate current information with curriculum taught in classes. “Having access to this information through Barron’s is a win for both the students and faculty. We felt this would be a great opportunity for SAU,” he said.
“We are so pleased to bring the Barron’s in Education Program to the Rankin College of Business with support from the Don McDonald Group,” said Joe Lanza, Director of Financial Education at Barron’s Group. “All SAU business students, faculty and staff will have access to Barron’s digital content along with experiential learning elements designed to help promote financial proficiency for the next generation of business leaders.”
With a circulation of over 615,000 readers in print and digital, Barron’s has an audience that includes financial executives, government officials, and entrepreneurs. The Barron’s in Education program aims to improve financial literacy and proficiency in universities across the nation, providing multiple benefits to students pursuing a career in business and faculty looking to make greater strides in their fields.
