With a grateful heart and a passion for her alma mater, Caleigh Moyer accepts the promotion to Director of Communications and Marketing. She is a 2017 Agriculture Business graduate and recently received her MBA in Supply Chain Management, both from Southern Arkansas University.
Agriculture is something that played a significant role in her life because of her upbringing on her family’s beef cattle and poultry operation and her involvement in 4-H and FFA. Ultimately, it is what led her to SAU. “I credit my parents and our family farm for teaching me the importance of having a strong work ethic and being passionate about what I believe in. It taught me invaluable skills and I will always be thankful,” said Moyer.
As a student at SAU, Moyer enjoyed being involved in the Agriculture Club, Young Farmers and Ranchers, Collegiate FFA, and serving as a President’s Ambassador. “Being a President’s Ambassador is where I found my passion for being an influence on students’ deciding to attend SAU,” she said.
After graduation, Moyer started pursuing her career as an Admissions Counselor where she traveled the Ark-La-Tex recruiting students and sharing her love for SAU. “This was an easy job for me because I love SAU, I loved my experience as a student, and all I had to do was tell my story,” said Moyer.
More recently, Moyer transitioned to Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing in January 2019 and has been serving as the Interim Director. In this role, “Caleigh has shown exceptional leadership, attention to detail, great teamwork, and the hard work ethic we need,” said Dr. Donna Allen, Vice President for Student Affairs. “We are excited she is willing to lead the department.”
“My career at SAU has come full circle, from a student to a President’s Ambassador, and from an Admissions Counselor to now holding a leadership role in the Communications and Marketing Department. I get to continue not only to tell my story but now SAU’s story as a whole, and that is something to be excited about,” said Moyer.
